It was the late 1400’s when Queen Giovanna d’Angiò presented the Correale family of Terranova with some acres of land in the Sorrento Coast area. The noble family then established themselves in this territory and started hiring local families for domestic services.
Of these families, the Ruoppo’s ancestors were present, they took care of the Villa Correale gardens and surrounding facilities, which has today all become a public museum.
From then on the Ruoppo’s have always been in charge of maintenance of plants and flowers of Villa Correale and also in other Sorrentine areas.
Claudio Ruoppo’s dream was to create a farmland holiday spot that would offer guests the possibility to come in contact with the true essence and nature of the Sorrentine Peninsula, other than the infinite beaches and high society of Sorrento. An essence composed of strong citrus plant scents, Mediterranean landscapes which lead the eye all the way to the sea, and countless olive trees all around.
Twelve years ago this dream became true: Claudio, with the help of his wife Olga Fasulo, managed to achieve his goal of transforming the family rural area into a farmhouse holiday spot, also in addition, a small factory of a local products has been built with stores in the center of Sorrento and a banqueting/ catering company (Terranova Catering Service).
Helping Claudio today in his daily operations are his sons and daughters Luigi, Rossella, Francesca, and Roberto each specialized in different aspects of the family business.
